Breast Cancer Awareness

We are a collaboration of many local breast cancer organizations celebrating October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One in 7 women in the PNW will have breast cancer in her lifetime. We aim to bring attention to survivors, those living with metastatic disease, and those who lost their battle.

Dyslexia Awareness Month

October is nationally recognized as Dyslexia Awareness Month. The 15th was chosen for the bridge lighting to represent the 1 in 5 people that struggle with this learning difference. Our schools need improved resources and teacher education to meet the needs of our students.

DLD Awareness

Despite affecting 7.6% of the population, nearly 7 times more common than autism spectrum disorder, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) remains a hidden disability for most people around the world. Help spread awareness and support for people with DLD.

Operation Green Light

By illuminating the bridge in green, we join Operation Green Light in letting veterans know they are seen, appreciated, and supported. People can participate at home by changing one light bulb in their house to a green bulb from Nov. 7 to Nov. 13, or engaging on social media #OperationGreenLight

Veteran’s Day

Every year on Nov. 11, Multnomah County recognizes Veterans Day. On this date, the Morrison Bridge will turn red, white, and blue.
